When I heard that Neil Peart had passed away on January 7, 2020, my heart broke in two. Rush has been my all-time favourite band since I was a teenager and started playing guitar I obsessed over every album, live performance, lyric, and drum solo.
My songwriting has always been influenced by this band and there is truly no soul better at combining complicated rhythms with poetic lyrics.
Rest in peace, Neil. I hope your drumkit in your next life is at least twice as big.
